S. Roxanne Edwards
Biography

Roxanne Edwards assists companies in various areas of intellectual property law with an emphasis on all aspects of global brand development, protection, strategy, and enforcement. She provides support to companies’ legal, business, and marketing teams on intellectual property matters, and has served as primary trademark counsel for small and mid-size businesses, as well as Fortune 100 and multinational companies, in a wide range of industries, including restaurant and hospitality, entertainment, pharmaceuticals, software, manufacturing, and consumer goods.


Roxanne partners with clients in the development, clearance, acquisition, registration, and protection of trademarks and other intellectual property rights globally, and leads clients through the creation and implementation of policing and enforcement efforts, including:

  • Managing clients’ domestic and international trademark and intellectual property portfolios
  • Managing and resolving trademark, copyright, and domain name disputes, including U.S. and international trademark oppositions and cancellations, domain name disputes via Uniform Dispute Resolution Proceedings (UDRP), and social media enforcement
  • Developing and implementing measures to combat gray market and counterfeit products such as e-commerce and online marketplace takedowns, DMCA actions, and customs counseling and recordation
  • Drafting and negotiating intellectual property agreements, including licenses, co-existence agreements, co-branding agreements, settlement agreements, and assignments
  • Assisting clients with intellectual property issues in the context of corporate, M&A, and financing transactions

Roxanne also handles matters related to copyright, trade dress, and non-traditional trademarks, and counsels clients on intellectual property issues related to franchising, social media, e-commerce, and U.S. boycott and sanctions with foreign countries.
