Ty  Johnson
Biography

Ty Johnson has a broad range of transactional experience representing clients in corporate, commercial finance, and real estate matters. He regularly represents buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions and has deep experience representing both banks and borrowers. Ty previously acted as general counsel of a private equity firm where he supported the strategic needs of the holding company and the day-to-day operations of its multiple business units in sectors ranging from retail to real estate to health care. His experience has given him a unique perspective of the practical issues that clients face. His client-centered and pragmatic approach allows him to solve complex issues with creativity, precision, and calm confidence. Most of all, Ty enjoys creating a strong, long-term relationships with his clients as he earns their trust as an advisor and advocate. Ty collaborates with large and small clients and enjoys the challenges and special considerations that each one brings to a transaction.

Representative Matters
  • Represented company in construction loan for entertainment complex after borrower had self-funded and begun substantial construction activities.
  • Served as general counsel to a private equity company and its portfolio of subsidiary operating companies.
  • Negotiated a seller-financed sale and leaseback of a 1,000 acre tract in central Texas with a wraparound mortgage.
  • Negotiated the sale of a regional chain of veterinary clinics and pet grooming stores.
  • Represented client in the negotiation of new leases, renewals, and terminations for nationwide portfolio of 650 tenant leases.
  • Represented client in the acquisition, finance, development, condominium establishment, and lease of numerous light industrial centers.
  • Represented general partner of luxury hotel and resort in buyout.
  • Negotiated leases between property owners and solar farm development companies.
