Learn the nuts and bolts of the process involved in turning an unpaid commercial account into a judgment, and then into cash. Topics will include: factoring agreement considerations, the perfection of security interests, the demand letter process, considering small claims court versus a court of record, key information needed for a default judgment, liquidated versus unliquidated damages, key judgment language and ways to turn a judgment into cash. The presentation will be based on Texas law. Rules, procedures, remedies and other legal matters vary from state to state.
