Bell Nunnally Partner Larry Shosid Named "Lawyer of the Year" for Commercial Finance in D/FW by Best Lawyers

Bell Nunnally Partner Larry L. Shosid has been selected as the “Lawyer of the Year” in the area of Commercial Finance Law for the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan region by Best Lawyers. Cross-listed on The Best Lawyers in America list, Shosid’s selection as “Lawyer of the Year” is based on “extremely high overall feedback from (his) peers.” For each “Lawyer of the Year” category, only one attorney is selected per metropolitan area.

2023 marks Shosid’s second selection in as “Lawyer of the Year” for Commercial Finance in D/FW (previous selection in 2020). It is the second year in a row for the firm, with Partner Nikki Hurst Gibson selected in 2022.

In total, The Best Lawyers in America’s 2023 edition features 20 Bell Nunnally attorneys, which is more than 30% of the firm’s lawyers. In addition, 16 firm attorneys were named to Best Lawyers’ “Ones to Watch” list.

Ranked in Chambers USA’s guide in the “Corporate/M&A” category for Texas, Shosid has extensive experience with mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings (both public and private placements), general corporate representations, partnerships, international transactions, and various real property and energy transactions.

Shosid’s deal-making prowess is exemplified by his work steering Dallas’ ISN through a successful minority investment financing from Blackstone, a 2020 transaction that saw the software company’s valuation soar to more than $2B. Shosid has also been active on the buy-side with Ryan, LLC, having closed 6 acquisitions in the past 12 months. Beyond birthing a local “unicorn,” each year, Shosid racks up an impressive collection of transactions for clients, with his sweet-spot and focus on mid-market deals.

A graduate of the University of Texas for both law and undergraduate (J.D., 1987; B.B.A., with highest honors, 1984), Shosid is also a four-time selectee to D Magazine’s “Best Lawyers in Dallas” list, including its 2022 edition.
