George W. Coleman joined Bell Nunnally & Martin as Of Counsel. “George brings a wealth of experience to our corporate and transactional practices,” said Jim Skochdopole, firm managing partner.
George has extensive experience in structuring and negotiating complex business transactions and partnership and LLC structures, including handling the acquisition and disposition of businesses, the financing of business activities, the creation of business entities, family succession planning and assisting committees of boards of directors. In addition, he is co-author of a treatise on Texas limited liability companies under the Texas Business Organizations Code.
The Dallas Lawyers Auxiliary presented George with the Justinian Award in 2007, for his outstanding contributions in volunteer services to the community of Dallas over a significant number of years. Also in 2007, George was awarded the Martin I. Lubaroff Award by the American Bar Association Business Law Section for his service on the Partnership Committee and the leadership and outstanding service he provided. George is the former chair of the American Bar Association’s Partnership and LLC Law Committee of the Business Law Section. George is also the former chair of the State Bar of Texas’ Business Law Section and is a former member of the Vestry of Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, Dallas, Texas.
George received his B.S. in petroleum engineering from The University of Oklahoma in 1961 and his LL.B. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 1963.
