Five Bell Nunnally Attorneys Named 2011 "Rising Stars"

Bell Nunnally & Martin LLP partners Jeffrey Erler, Karen Hart, Brent Huddleston, Jeffrey Lowenstein and associate Wendy Duprey have been named to the 2011 Texas Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” Edition, which recognizes the top up-and-coming attorneys in the state.  Compiled through peer nomination and research, only two percent of attorneys in Texas under 40-years old receive this distinction.

“We congratulate our attorneys on this distinction.  Bell Nunnally strives to attract the best and brightest talent and to provide an environment to support such rising stars and their practices,” said Jim Skochdopole, managing partner of Bell Nunnally. “We look forward to their continued success.”

Erler’s practice focuses in the areas of insolvency and creditor's rights, including bankruptcy-related litigation. He has extensive experience representing secured and unsecured creditors, lessors, and committees in bankruptcy reorganizations and liquidations, bankruptcy litigation, and pre- and post-bankruptcy workout and foreclosure matters.  Erler was recently elected as a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation for his outstanding professional achievements and commitment to the improvement of the Texas justice system. He earned his J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 1996 and B.B.A from Texas A&M University in 1993.

Hart earned her J.D. with honors from the University of Texas at Austin in 2001 and B.A. with highest honors from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1997.

Huddleston focuses his practice on employment based immigration law and is skilled at handling complex immigration issues.  He has represented Fortune 500 corporations in hiring, retaining and obtaining employment authorization for foreign nationals, and regularly counsels clients in establishing company policies regarding hiring procedures, I-9 compliance, employment of foreign nationals, and national origin discrimination issues. Huddleston earned his J.D. from Southern Methodist University in 2002 and B.A. from Texas Tech University in 1998.

Lowenstein is the chair of the firm’s Litigation Section and focuses his trial practice on complex commercial matters and business disputes.  He represents developers, investors, management, and owners in claims involving real property including construction defects, leasing disputes, contract disputes, and partnership disputes.  He also frequently represents clients in lawsuits involving intellectual property claims, including patent, copyright, and trademark infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, and related claims.  Lowenstein earned his J.D. in 1998 and B.A. in 1995 from the University of California, Los Angeles.

She received her J.D. cum laude from the Washington University School of Law in 2005 and B.A. cum laude from Knox College in 1998.
