Two Bell Nunnally Attorneys Named to The Best Lawyers in America 2012

Bell Nunnally & Martin LLP announces that two attorneys have been selected by their peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2012® (Copyright 2011 by Woodward/White, Inc., of Aiken, S.C.). George W. Coleman and Danica L. Mathes, both Of Counsel, were selected in the areas of Corporate Law and Entertainment Law (Motion Pictures, Television and Music), respectively.

Coleman structures and negotiates complex business transactions and partnership and LLC structures, including handling the acquisition and disposition of businesses, financing of business activities, creation of business entities, family succession planning and assistance of committees and boards of directors. Throughout his distinguished career, Coleman has been heavily involved in the legal community both in Texas and nationally. This includes tenures as chair of the American Bar Association Business Law Section’s Partnership and LLC Law Committee and as chair of the State Bar of Texas’ Business Law Section. Coleman is a past recipient of the Dallas Bar Association’s Justinian Award, which honors attorneys who have made outstanding and enduring contributions in volunteer services to the Dallas community. He also is the co-author of a treatise on Texas limited liability companies under the Texas Business Organization Code. Coleman received his LL.B. from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law (1963) and his B.S. from the University of Oklahoma (1961).

Mathes, who has been included in The Best Lawyers in America since 2007, handles traditional and emerging intellectual property matters for individuals, entrepreneurial and closely held businesses and Fortune 100 companies. Mathes also represents and counsels clients in the entertainment industry, including music, film, television, radio, theatre, visual arts, literary publishing, fashion, toys, beverages, amateur and professional athletes and interactive media. A frequent presenter, she has spoken at numerous conferences, such as the South by Southwest Music Conference (SXSW), the Hip Hop Congress National Convention and the MECA Music Conference. She received her J.D. from Washington University School of Law (2001) and her B.A. from DePauw University (1998).

About Best Lawyers
Since its inception in 1983, Best Lawyers has become regarded as the definitive guide to legal excellence. Because Best Lawyers is based on an exhaustive peer-review survey in which more than 41,000 leading attorneys cast almost 3.9 million votes on the legal abilities of other lawyers in their practice areas, and because lawyers are not required or allowed to pay a fee to be listed, inclusion in Best Lawyers is considered a singular honor. Corporate Counsel magazine has called Best Lawyers “the most respected referral list of attorneys in practice.” Attorneys are selected for the various practice areas entirely as a result of the votes they receive from their peers. The subspecialties listed after their names are based on information from a variety of sources.
