Bell Nunnally Elevates Andrew Dowdy and Allison Elko to Partner

Bell Nunnally & Martin LLP has elevated Andrew Dowdy and Allison L. Elko to partner, effective Jan. 1.

Dowdy is a member of Bell Nunnally’s Corporate and Securities, Mergers and Acquisitions and Tax practice areas, focusing on business formation and structures, contract drafting and negotiation, merger and acquisition transactions and federal and state tax issues. He assists clients in a broad range of general corporate matters and mergers and acquisitions.

Dowdy regularly counsels clients on tax issues, including tax-efficient structures for corporate mergers, acquisitions and reorganizations and the formation and operation of tax-exempt organizations – such as 501(c)(3) public charities and private foundations.

Dowdy is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center (LL.M., 2010), Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law (J.D., 2009) and the University of Texas at Austin (B.A., 2005).

Elko is a member of the firm’s Real Estate practice area. She advises commercial real estate clients in their capacity as investors, landowners, landlords, tenants, contractors, builders and developers. Her expertise includes property acquisition and disposition, retail, office and industrial leasing, build-to-suit projects and development finance.

Prior to joining Bell Nunnally in 2016 as senior counsel, Elko served as Associate General Counsel and in an underwriting capacity for Hexter-Fair Title Company (now part of First American Title Company), as Senior Counsel for Windstream Corporation (NASDAQ: WIN), a Fortune 500 company and as a law firm associate focused on real estate transactions

Active in the community, Elko is a volunteer and past board member for Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star. She has twice been named Dallas’ “Big Sister of the Year.” Elko is a graduate of the University of Arkansas School of Law (J.D., 1998) and the University of Arkansas (B.A., 1993).
