Sonja McGill's Sexual Harassment Case is Featured on the Dallas Morning News

Partner Sonja J. McGill’s representation of a yoga instructor who alleges she was sexually harassed while taking part in a session is the subject of the Dallas Morning News article titled, “Dallas woman says she was forced out of faith-based Holy Yoga for reporting sexual harassment during class.”

McGill’s client Danette Galvis was a yoga instructor for Dallas-based Holy Yoga when, in October of 2017 at a retreat and in front of several hundred students, she alleges a fellow instructor sexually harassed her. Galvis reported the incident within two hours to supervisors and, as her suit for sex discrimination, retaliation and defamation filed on August 9 details, she subsequently was given a pay cut and demoted, before resigning and facing social media-spread defamation.

The case is Danette Galvis v. Holy Yoga Foundation and Holy Yoga Global, LLC (3:18-cv-02081-M) and is seated in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division.
