T.J. Hales has substantial experience advocating for clients in state and federal courts at all stages of litigation, including on appeal. T.J. primarily advises and represents clients in matters involving real estate and landlord-tenant issues, lien and bond claims, and contract disputes. T.J. also advises employers in all areas of labor and employment law, including discrimination, harassment, arbitration agreements, class-action waivers, employee privacy, and biometrics compliance. He has experience obtaining results for clients through mediation, litigation, and post-judgment remedy processes.
Prior to private practice, he clerked with the Hon. Christine A. Nowak in the Eastern District of Texas and completed a public interest fellowship at the Constitutional Law Center for Muslims in America, where he worked on criminal and civil litigation matters. During law school, T.J. served as the Managing Editor of the SMU Law Review, competed in the Willem C. Vis Commercial Arbitration and Philip C. Jessup International Law Moots, and externed with the Hon. Amos L. Mazzant in the Eastern District of Texas.
